Industrial Alumina Ceramic Cherry Profile 120 Keys
Crackled glaze in the Song-dynasty tradition
A 120-key Cherry-profile set kiln-fired from 95% AlO industrial-grade alumina ceramic, finished in a translucent ice-crack glaze. Each cap carries a randomly fractured crackle pattern no two sets, no two keys, are identical.
95% AlO Ceramic Cherry Profile 120 Keycaps Subtly Translucent Magnetic 4-Tier Gift Box
Ice-crack () glazing is a classical Chinese ceramic technique dating back to the Song dynasty Ge and Ru wares celebrated for the way each kiln firing produces a unique, unrepeatable fracture pattern across the glaze. The XVX White Ice Crack set translates that craft tradition onto a keyboard surface: each cap is fired individually, and the cracks form naturally as the glaze cools.
This isn’t a printed graphic or an embossed texture. Every line you see is a real fracture in the glaze layer.
The crackle pattern is finer at the top of each cap and webs out across the sides. A subtly translucent porcelain finish lets the texture catch light without rainbow-shifting like a backlit cap.

These caps are kiln-fired from the same class of high-purity alumina ceramic used in mechanical, chemical, electrical, and aerospace industries not the softer ceramic that goes into household tableware.
Industrial-grade purity gives the caps superior heat resistance, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and impact resistance over household ceramic.
High-temperature firing fuses the alumina into a tight, hard structure much tougher than regular ceramic. Normal accidental drops are not a concern.
Characters are added before firing, so the legends are part of the ceramic itself rather than printed on top. They won’t fade from wear or hand oils as long as the cap stays intact.
A faint translucency runs through the glaze caps catch light softly across the crackle pattern. Compatible with backlit boards but not designed as full shine-through.
Standard Cherry profile with R1R4 row sculpting comfortable, familiar, low-to-medium height, the most-used profile in custom keyboards.
Ships in a magnetic flip-top four-tier presentation box. Built for safe transit and for the kind of set you’d actually want to display closed.
Ice-crack ceramic is a handcrafted finish. The character of the product is also the source of its quirks please read these notes before committing.
Crack effects form naturally as the glaze cools. Slight variations in glaze thickness cause meaningfully different crackle patterns from one cap and one set to the next. No two sets are identical. If you need uniform, repeatable graphics, this set isn’t the right choice.
Strong crackle effects require a thicker glaze layer. As the glaze fractures, the cracked surface can have small individual raised points, and spacing between caps is tighter than standard plastic sets. This is a property of the technique, not a defect. If you’re sensitive to perfectly smooth keycap surfaces, please consider carefully.
The caps have a protective coating designed to prevent sweat and skin oils from filling the crack gaps. Wiping with isopropyl alcohol, acetone, or any solvent-based cleaner will damage that coating. Use a slightly damp soft cloth for cleaning nothing more aggressive.

Will every set look like the photos?
The overall white-on-white crackle aesthetic will be the same, but the exact crack lines on every individual cap are random and unique to that firing. Treat the product photos as representative of the style, not a guarantee of identical pattern placement.
Are the keycaps fragile?
No they’re made from high-strength alumina ceramic fired at 1600C, which is significantly tougher than household ceramic. Normal handling and occasional drops are not a concern. They are still ceramic, so extreme impact (e.g., onto a tile floor from height) is best avoided.
Will the legends fade?
No. Characters are kiln-fired into the cap before glazing, so the legend is part of the ceramic itself. Hand sweat and use frequency won’t wear them down as long as the cap remains intact.
How do I clean them?
A slightly damp soft cloth is all you need. Do not use isopropyl alcohol, acetone, or any solvent-based cleaner these will damage the protective surface coating designed to keep oils out of the crack gaps.
Will these fit my keyboard?
The set uses standard MX-style cross stems and Cherry profile, so any keyboard with MX-compatible switches will work. The 120-key kit includes both 1.75U and 2U right-shift options, plus a 6.25U spacebar covering most ANSI layouts from 60% through fullsize. Check your specific board’s bottom row sizing if you have a non-standard layout.
Are they backlight compatible?
The caps are subtly translucent, so backlighting will softly diffuse through the crackle pattern rather than shine cleanly through legends. Good for ambient glow, not for crisp shine-through legends.
Do the small raised spots affect typing?
For most typists, no the raised points are very fine and concentrated in the crack lines. If you’re highly sensitive to keycap surface uniformity, this is worth keeping in mind: the texture is part of the handcrafted character of the product.
